Sony Interactive Entertainment has unveiled a new line of planar magnetic headsets: the PlayStation Pulse and PlayStation Pulse Edge. Here’s everything we know.

PlayStation is introducing a new pair of headsets called the PlayStation Pulse and Pulse Edge. The headsets were given no price point, though their use of planar magnets and description as ‘premium products’ indicates a higher-tier audiophile-style headset.

The following features were listed on the PlayStation blog:

• Uses PlayStation Link Dongle
• Can connect to PlayStation 5, PS Portal, Mac, and PC
• Can connect to Bluetooth devices such as phones or tablets
• AI-enhanced noise-cancelling microphone (Edge only)

The Pulse Wireless headset is shown to use 4 planar magnets, while the Pulse Edge uses 8. The Pulse Edge gives you a wheel to adjust game and chat volume. The regular version requires you to use in-game menus. Only the Edge has Active Noise Cancellation as well. Finally, the Edge gets a carrying case.

The PlayStation Pulse headset will launch in ‘select markets’ in Holiday 2026. The Pulse Edge headset launches in early 2027. Are you interested in this new headset from Sony? It joins the Pulse 3D, Elite headsets, and Explore earbuds, which launched back in 2022. Those ranged from $99.99 to $149.99 MSRP.
